Our Mission
The Shrewsbury Furniture Scheme is a registered charity established in 1994 that operates from its warehouse headquarters at unit 9b, Hartley Business Park, Monkmoor Road and provides direct assistance to those in need within our local community through the provision of household goods (at very affordable prices), which are sourced from generous donors within the same community.
We regularly welcome volunteers from all walks of life, helping them gain experience in the world of work as well as confidence and life skills.
We help the community recycle and reuse furniture for a greener future and by doing so, reduce the volume of furniture destined for landfill.
Through our warehouse, online shop and workshop, we aim to provide quality second-hand furniture to people in need.
The Warehouse
Our Shrewsbury Furniture Scheme Warehouse, located on Monkmoor Road, holds a variety of furniture, home essentials, white goods and soft furnishings to help provide for lower-income households. From individuals moving into their first home to families in need, our second-hand furniture warehouse is designed to supply people with all the furniture they need, at affordable prices. Book a visit by contacting a member of our team and browse second-hand sofas, beds, wooden furniture and more.
Furniture Workshops
Our upcycling furniture workshops are the perfect opportunity to upskill and give back to the community. Every Friday, we run workshops from 10 am-1 pm where we invite individuals to gather, build friendships and support our charitable mission. Whether you want to bring along your own project or upcycle a piece of donated furniture, there are no skills required to attend.
We’re looking for volunteers!
If you’re looking for voluntary work in Shrewsbury, we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us at our warehouse to help support the team and our overall charitable objectives. Contact us now for more information.
